Susie Dent, lexicographer and etymologist par excellence, comes up with many gems on twitter, pointing a finger to happenings in our times of conflict but without judgement. Below is a reminder of the UK parliament”s new-found ways of governing which many find hard to swallow, and the revolts, the turmoil filling many of the USA’s cities.

Some noises of protest from the past:

Fremescence: a growing murmur of dissatisfaction.

Conclamation: a united roar of disapproval.

Exsibilation: hissing a poor performer off the stage.

More of Susie’s bons mots coming up in further blogs.
